Ochsenhausen want the double, reigning champions Düsseldorf want their 35th title - World Cup winner Calderano vs. icon Boll
Boll has already won the German Team Championship 14 times, most recently four times in a row. From 2021 to 2024, the team from Düsseldorf beat 1. FC Saarbrücken TT in the Liebherr TTBL final each time (3:1, 3:1, 3:2, 3:1). This time, a different challenger awaits Borussia: TTF Liebherr Ochsenhausen, led by Hugo Calderano, currently number 3 in the world rankings and recent World Cup winner, and Simon Gauzy, impressively eliminated FCS in the semi-finals with two 3-0 victories and are in the Liebherr TTBL final for the first time since 2020. Borussia advanced to the final with two wins against TSV Bad Königshofen (3:1, 3:2).
Düsseldorf and Ochsenhausen had already gone head-to-head in the main round. In the end, the two teams finished level on points with 32:12 points each, with Borussia finishing in first place due to the better match ratio - 53:33 compared to 55:36. Both teams will now be looking to add another trophy to their title collection on June 15: Düsseldorf has already collected 78 titles, including the German championship 34 times. Ochsenhausen have been champions four times so far, most recently in 2019, and are now aiming for the double. In January, Calderano and Co. had already secured the German Table Tennis Cup in the Liebherr Cup Final Four.
